A federal judge has ordered a criminal defendant to decrypt his hard drive by typing in his PGP passphrase so prosecutors can view the unencrypted files, a ruling that raises serious concerns about self-incrimination in an electronic age.

In an abrupt reversal, U.S. District Judge William Sessions in Vermont ruled that Sebastien Boucher, who a border guard claims had child porn on his Alienware laptop, does not have a Fifth Amendment right to keep the files encrypted.

Apple just released a beta version of Safari 4 with lots of new features. Users of 1Password might notice that it doesn’t work in the new version. To fix this, close Safari and 1Password and edit the following file:

/Applications/1Password.app/Contents/Resources/SupportedBrowsers.plist

Find the Key named Safari and look for MaxBundleVersion underneath. You will see 5528.1 as the maximum version. Change that to 5528.16, save and quit. Now you can reenable Safari from the 1Password preferences and then start Safari 4 and add the button to the toolbar. Voila!

I dont know why this is big news , like she ever used a password that wouldn’t have been cracked using a dictionary file? But none the less ,much like her gmail and youtube accounts Miley Cyrus Twitter account has been hacked. Of course if Twitter got it right the first time or after their other publicized hack and had limited account login attempts, they probably wouldn’t have succeeded.

Even though nowadays processor speeds are getting quicker and more powerful for cracking speeds, but it still takes time to crack a long/secure md5 password, so usually the best option for doing this quickly is to use pre-built rainbow tables to do the job for you , although those tables can be large in size, so the second best way is to use online md5 crackers, which can either compare your hash to something in their databse or add it to their own networked crackers. This is the ADDCO portable sign,should it will ask you for a password. Try “DOTS”, the default password. However if they changed it, hold “Control” and “Shift” and while holding, enter “DIPY”. This will reset the sign and reset the password back to the default.
