GetKey 1.0 –
Download GetKey 1.0
Retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install Windows.
For Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003, Server 2008
Important Notice
You must read to determine the validity of the key retrieved by any of the key finder utilities.
If your system came pre-installed with XP, the Product Key that any key finder or system resources utility retrieves most likely will be the Generic Key the OEM uses to install and NOT the Product Key you need to reinstall.
If you successfully reinstalled XP since the initial OEM setup (i.e. The first time you booted the computer), the Product Key if requested and input from the key located on the case or generic OEM Certificate of Authenticity (COA) sticker label will be the valid Product Key supplied with the computer.
If XP was not reinstalled the retrieved Product Key will be the generic Product Key used by the OEM and will return an invalid message when used to reinstall from the OEM disk. The correct Product Key will be the one from the sticker on the outside of the case. The Product key is not hard coded [i.e. does not have a singular unique identity] to the Windows XP CD or any other version of Windows installation disk media.
If you are trying to recover your product key from a dead system (i.e. it wont boot into windows) You can slave the drive to another machine or boot from WinPE disk and buy our newer program GetKey 3.0
Tech Tools 3.0
Based off of the idea of Bryce Whitty’s “Computer Repair Utility Kit” from Technibble.com. The downfalls of Bryce’s idea was that he had the complete package with all the tools offered for download on his site, which of course sucked up bandwidth, and some authors of the applications, while freeware, wanted the only download of their software to be at their own sites.
To bypass these problems Tech Tools uses Ketarin, which is an application downloader that checks to see if an application has been updated and downloads it if so.
So I’ve compiled a list of apps that that were part of the original tool, and either
subtracted or added them due to their portability. i.e. if the program had an installer i didnt include it, I used mostly standlone executables for this first package.
You use Ketarin to first download all your tools and it will automatically extract them to their categorized folders.Once Downloaded you can then open Pstart.exe ,its menu is already configured to show the downloaded tools. You would then use Ketarin weekly to auto-update all these tech tools so you would always have a fresh copy of the program on your USB.

CD’s Nuts –
Sometimes norton, nero, or other apps would screw up the upper and lower filters in the registry making the cd/dvd rom not to show up under explorer. This program removes those filter registry entries hopefully restoring access to your CD/DVD rom.
