Toshiba laptops aren’t like most laptops where you can remove the BIOS battery and let it sit for a few hours to reset the BIOS. So what do you do? There are three forms of BIOS password removal being used currently by Toshiba:
1. Parallel port wraparound connector
2. Shorting a jumper, with power and with no power
3. Challenge/Response code

Here’s a .pdf by Fastback68 which appears to to compiled from qasimtoep’s old website explaining how to reset a Dell BIOS password using a paperclip.The laptop that was used in this demonstration is a Model 630 type PPX.

There are a lot of people who have a dell or similar laptop that they are not able to use because of a special password chip that can’t be cleared by resetting the CMOS using software or by removing the battery. (more…)

Reset Password Programmable Road Sign

This is the ADDCO portable sign,should it will ask you for a password. Try “DOTS”, the default password. However if they changed it, hold “Control” and “Shift” and while holding, enter “DIPY”. This will reset the sign and reset the password back to the default.

Reset PSP Password

If you lost or forgot your PSP password, here’s what u need to do:

You can restore the PSP to the default factory settings to reset the password to 0000. To restore the settings:

1. Highlight (System Settings) under (Settings) from the home menu, and press X Button.

2. Select Restore Default Settings and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If you restore the settings to reset the password, on you’r psp other settings will also be lost. Once these settings are lost, they cannot be recovered and you will have to manually set them again.

Dialupass Beta

Dialupass is one of the oldest nirsoft utilities for extracting dialup passwords.
The newer beta has one useful new feature: You can now extract the dialup passwords from an external instance of Windows 2000/XP/2003 (In Advanced Options).

Dialupass 3 is not officially released yet, but you can download a Beta version from here.

View LSA Secrets On An External Drive

The new version of LsaSecretsView from nirsoft allows you to extract the LSA secrets from an external instance of Windows operating system. This feature can be useful if you have a dead system that cannot boot anymore.
You can use this feature from the user-interface, by using the ‘Advanced Options’ in the File
menu, or from command-line, by using the /external parameter.
This feature was also added to LSASecretsDump, which is the console version of LsaSecretsView.

Be aware the currently this feature works for Windows 2000/XP/2003, but not for Windows Vista.

BFG Hydra

BFG is a brute-force password generator for thc-hydra, which doesn’t have a brute-force module in the original version, and can only perform dictionary attacks.
BFG adds this functionality to hydra, possibly making it a better tool for security testing/hacking.
