STEAM CHANGED THE WAY THEY SAVE THEIR PASSWORDS, PROGRAM NO LONGER WORKING

Allows you to recover your username and password for your Steam login for Valve games locally from your computer.

This method works if the “Remember My Password” was selected before logging in. It also will work if you didn’t select “Remember My Password” but are currently logged into your Steam account.

Built in pure Assembler language this program is only 8.5kb and fits perfectly on a thumbdrive to carry with you anywhere.

Reset PSP Password

If you lost or forgot your PSP password, here’s what u need to do:

You can restore the PSP to the default factory settings to reset the password to 0000. To restore the settings:

1. Highlight (System Settings) under (Settings) from the home menu, and press .

2. Select Restore Default Settings and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If you restore the settings to reset the password, on you’r psp other settings will also be lost. Once these settings are lost, they cannot be recovered and you will have to manually set them again.

Wii Parental Control Password Reset Tool

This should be of use for those who bought second-hand Wiis that were parental-locked. Marcan wrote a quick little tool to generate Parental Control password reset codes without having to call Nintendo. Bushing found the code inside the system menu, and Marcan converted it into a PSP script (Python Server Pages) which you can use on-line.
Go into the Parental controls itself, then Click “I forgot on the Pin” entry page, and “I forgot on the Secret Answer” entry page. Your 8 digit confirmation code will be on the next page. Enter that code into the box here http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.psp and it will spit back the code to unlock it.

Steam Password Save Flaw

Valve is a game software company who makes popular software titles such as Half-Life and Counterstrike and distributes them through a program called Steam. It’s passwords are are encrypted with AES encryption using a key from a combination of 3 concatenated registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProductId
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\MachineGuid
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Half-Life\Settings\io

Using this decryption key it is possible to recover the password of your Steam that is stored in ClientRegistry.blob in your Steam install directory when you chose to “Remember my Password”.

During the coding of Steam Recover we came across a flaw in Steam’s login procedure in when you log in and don’t choose “Remember my Password” Steam will still store your password in the ClientRegistry.blob while you are logged in , thus making your password susceptible to being recovered by this same method.

and log into your steam account wait about 30 seconds and open Steam Recover and press “Recover Steam Password!” even though you didn’t select “Remember my Password” your password is still recovered.

This is not a major bug but might be a security risk in gaming centers and lan parties.
